Zayn Quits One Direction

Zayn Malik leaves One Direction

It has been widely speculated over the last couple of weeks, since photos of Zayn appeared on the internet, and Zayn delcared his love for his fiancee Perrie Edwards.  The worlds media went into overdrive when Zayn decided to take time out of One Directions On the Road Again Tour and travelled back to England.

Fans wept that Zayn would be missing for 3 concerts, but at that point they believed the press release that he would be back on March 28th for the next few concerts... but it was not to be

Yesterday millions of teenagers wept, and twitter and facebook went crazy as the news that Zayn had decided to leave the band. - Perhaps he had taken their new album title FOUR a little too seriously?

According to One Direction's website, 5 will become 4 and things will carry on - whilst they are looking forward to recording their new albumn, they wish Zayn all the best for the future.

Zayn stated: "My life with One Direction has been more than I could ever have imagined. But, after five years, I feel like it is now the right time for me to leave the band. I'd like to apologise to the fans if I've let anyone down, but I have to do what feels right in my heart. I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight. I know I have four friends for life in Louis, Liam, Harry and Niall. I know they will continue to be the best band in the world."

The hysteria surrounding Zayn leaving is similar to the press reports when Robbie first left Take That, or Take That split up,
One Direction are not the first to have a band member leave and many bands continue successfully as a slimmed down version or with replacement, (Bon Jovi managed a massive 2013 world tour with replacement guitariest Phil X instead of Richie Sambora), Take That seem to need less dressing rooms every world tour now they are down to 3 .. but some bands limp on before fading away.. from recent years these include The Spice Girls, Steps,
They are commited to this tour until the end of October, with Halloween night at Sheffield Arena showing as their last concert date for this year. Europe is sold out for 2015 - but USA still has tickets available - will these last few dates go from a tour to a final tour? (as the JLS tour did in 2013)
